43 years + 5 years
A birthday + a soberversary
This is my third birthday + soberversary post.
On the summer solstice, I turn 43 and hit 5 years of sobriety. I just went back and read the past two posts marking this special day for me:
My last drink was really a beginning—
of making art again (after two decades of dormancy), learning to live with integrity and emotional sobriety, and facing my fear of… everything. (This is all still a work in progress and forever will be.)

Thank you for reading this, whether you’ve been here for a couple years or just stopped by for this post. This has been a place to mark time and I’m so grateful to be writing one of these posts once again. Thanks, 42.
