Today is the 3rd anniversary of the Ray of Light community! So it’s the perfect opportunity to share a podcast with one of our founding members.
This also happens to be our third Ray of Light community podcast. We had the pleasure of speaking with Dawn Hoppe, a creative entrepreneur and jewelry maker from Sacramento. Dawn has been a member of our Ray of Light community from day 1! During our conversation, we explored Dawn's creative unfolding, her identity as a maker and artist, and the power of adornment as a form of self-expression.
Dawn shared her path from art school to yoga teaching, and how she eventually rediscovered her creativity through jewelry making. Her business grew organically from a simple desire to create crystal bracelets for her yoga community, blossoming into a thriving vocation that combines her love for crystals with their energetic properties.
What stands out in Dawn's approach is her view of jewelry as talismans (our September Ray of Light theme!) - physical reminders of the inner magic we all possess. This perspective elevates adornment from mere decoration to a powerful personal empowerment and self-expression tool.
Our conversation also touched on the supportive nature of the Ray of Light community, highlighting how creative communities can nurture and inspire individuals at various stages of their artistic journeys. We all shared our experiences with adornment, and how it has weaved its way into our daily rituals, connection to others, and self-expression.
