Resistance
Through art, community, awareness, and joy
Something is swirling in the air around me and it’s giving me hope. The main ingredients are:
Connection with people who value and want to create/consume the arts and history (online + locally)
Less capitalism, more mutual aid
Less scrolling, more being
Less fear, more awareness
I’m introverted. I love being alone. I also realize I can’t live in the bubble I entered at the beginning of the pandemic (and didn’t fully exit until now).
This weekend, I gathered with friends to talk about Small Things Like These. Our conversation about the characters and the history of Ireland in the 1980s connected us to each other and to what’s unfolding today—in our families, community, and world. We learned things and we made plans because we were together, sharing space and being open. Together we can do things. When we’re isolated and doom scrolling… I’m not so sure.
Resistance comes in many forms and I’m going to find ones that make sense for me.
What’s swirling in the air for you?
xo, Corinne

Yes to all of the above. And wishing there was another space similar to Instagram not owned by Meta. I enjoy the content there but, well you know.
